Burned Out in Ministry? Rediscover Your Passion and Purpose
You've dedicated your life to making a difference and serving others with all you’ve got. But now you are feeling empty, depleted, and questioning your vocation. The joy and passion you used to feel each day has dimmed and you are struggling to find meaning in your work.
It's time to acknowledge that even the strongest among us need support. You don't have to navigate this alone.
Recognize the Signs:
Work feels like an uphill battle.
Minor stresses and setbacks feel overwhelming.
Socializing has become just another chore.
You've lost your sense of self and your mojo.
You just don’t care as much anymore.
You’re constantly exhausted, no matter how much you rest.
It Is Time To Ask For Help
I am Christina and I provide compassionate care for compassionate carers. I am a psychologist specializing in workplace stress and burnout, particularly for those in Christian ministry and mission. I understand the unique challenges you face, and I'm here to offer you a compassionate hand to guide you back to vitality. With years of experience working with Christian leaders, I understand the complex interplay between spiritual calling and emotional well-being. My tailored approach addresses the specific stressors of ministry work, helping you rediscover your passion and purpose. We'll work together to:
Identify the root causes of your burnout.
Develop personalised strategies to renew your energy and passion.
Develop self-compassion.
Cultivate sustainable self-care practices.
Reconnect with your core values and sense of calling.
Understand yourself, your energy and what your mind and spirit need.
Find a healthy balance between self-care and service.
Think of our work together as mending the punctures in your tires. Once repaired, you'll be able to fill up with renewed energy and purpose, without constantly feeling drained.
You don’t need to do this alone. Ignoring your feelings, your exhaustion and hoping they will go away is not the answer. You need a guide and a companion to have your back, to care for you, as you care for those you work with. I know that it is hard to admit that you are struggling. After all, you are the helper - and part of you feels like you should know how to map your way out of these burnout feelings too.
It is never too early to talk to someone about all that you are facing, experiencing and feeling.
What to Expect During Therapy for Burnout
I will work one-on-one with you, either face-to-face (Auckland) or online. Although I have a framework of 7 areas to guide our work, this is tailored for you and your particular journey and circumstances.
We will start with a comprehensive assessment, thoroughly evaluating your current state and identifying where we need to begin.
I draw from evidence-based therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and stress management techniques, integrating spiritual elements as appropriate.
My aim is that you will be a collaborative partner on this journey, leaving each session richer in insight, and armed with practical strategies to improve and maintain your well-being.
From Depletion to Vitality
Don’t keep struggling on alone, feeling ineffective and used up. I know it is hard to ask for help, but I am here to offer you a compassionate hand through the fog.
Together we will work to ensure that you are moving from:

Always putting yourself last, to meeting your own needs.
Having nothing left to feeling full of compassion.
